MUMBAI: Shubhangi Atre began her acting career in 2007 with Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay and gained prominence as the lead in Kasturi. The actress gained major recognition with her portrayal as Angoori Bhabhi in the popular sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!
She holds an MBA degree and is a mother to one daughter, Ashi. The actress got separated from her ex-husband, Peeyush Poorey in 2022, ending a 22-years-old marriage. Their divorce was finalized in February, 2025.
Unfortunately, as per reports, Shubhangi Atre's ex-husband Piyush Poorey has passed away on Saturday. This has left a lot of people wondering as their marriage ended this year, a few months ago. As per TOI reports, he was fighting liver cirrhosis and was ailing for some months before his death.
A reliable source shared, "Shubhangi and Piyush were not on talking terms. However, she is mourning. She has resumed shooting (for her TV show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) on Sunday."
Talking about Piyush Poorey, he was a digital marketing professional. Talking about her marriage with Piyush in an earlier interview, Shubhangi had said that she was fully invested in the marriage but with time there came irreconcilable differences. She added that after getting separated from Piyush, she feels as if a heavy burden has been lifted off.
