Debutant Rajesh Rathi directed English film Desires Of The Heart has won the Best Feature Film award at the LA Femme International Film Festival. The film centers on Dr. Kris Sharma, a psychiatrist from India practicing in Savannah, Georgia where he meets Madeline, a local artist with a mysterious past. But as their relationship begins to blossom in America, Kris is summoned home to marry the woman chosen by his parents. But as he begins to make decisions about his future, he discovers centuries old secrets that may seal the fate of his destiny. The film, written and produced by US-based Solila Parida, has been shot in India and USA. While 60 per cent of the film has been shot in India with Rathi donning the mantle of the director, the remaining 40 per cent was directed by James Kicklighter while the film was being filmed in the USA. Jitendra Mishra, of I Am Kalam fame, is the co-producer of the film. The film stars Val Lauren, Alicia Minsew, Edith Ivey, Sanna Hayens, Gulshan Grower, Archana Gupta, Shirish Sharma, Harsh Mayar and Ankit Bhardwaj.
