If the audience enjoys me as Omi, it is bliss for me - Samridh Bawa

Samridh Bawa
The handsome hunk Samridh Bawa who essays the role of Omi in Sunshine Productions’ The Buddy Project 2comes across as a very lively person with some great witty answers. The actor who started his career with a reality show on Channel [V] titled Get Gorgeous 6 has come a long way in proving his acting credentials. Samridh was earlier part of the very first episode of Gumrah Season 1, and was also seen in Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada. We at Tellychakkar.com got into a conversation with Samridh on various general aspects of life… Excerpts… What are your hobbies? To begin with, I love to talk and when I am in my ‘talking mood’ I can just go on for hours on any topic. But at the same time I am a very good listener because I believe that for any healthy conversation to take place, one should not just continue stating his points but should have the patience to listen to the other person too. Apart from this, I like to dance specially on dhol. I also love watching movies. Do you have any phobias? Not really, but I don't like spiders. Having said this, I have never encountered any incident with them, neither do I want to. What does love mean to you? Respect and utmost care!! If there is a smile on the person's face you love, and that makes you happy and satisfied, I believe that's love!! Do you believe in love at first sight? No, what if my second sight comes out to be better than the first one. (Laughs) Your favourite Bollywood actors and why? It has to be undoubtedly Mr. Hrithik Roshan for his impeccable personality, acting and dancing skills. I also admire Mr. Rajpal Yadav for his superb comic timing, Mr. Nawazuddin who can turn a simple dialogue into a most interesting one, Mr. Irrfan as he can act only with his eyes. I like a couple of other actors like Mr. Manoj Bajpayee and Mr. Rajkumar Yadav. And I want to add two names of our actresses i.e. Ms. Richha Chadda and Ms. Swara Bhaskar. Five adjectives to describe yourself. Passionate, hardworking, patience- personified, understanding and enthusiastic. Two things you want to change about yourself? Nahi karna, main apna favorite hoon (smiles). The best part about the TV industry is… We learn a lot from it and the one which tops the list is "Patience". The worst part about TV industry would be? It’s uncertainty. If not an actor what you would have been and why? I was very keen in automobiles, so you never know I might have been an automobile engineer. How did you land up with your role in The Buddy Project? I was doing a Balaji show when I got a call from Sunshine Productions for this role. I went for it, but never thought I would be able to crack it since the language was a tough one. I gave it a shot and it worked and that left me thrilled and overjoyed. What kind of a response are you getting playing the character of Omi? People love my character. I get messages wherein my work is being appreciated. I get to meet people in public places who appreciate my work. Ultimately what I am doing is for the audience; if they are enjoying, it is bliss for me. Do you relate to your on screen character? Not at all, Omi and Samridh are totally two different characters, the only similarity between them is that they both look the same (smiles). What kind of work are you looking for? Anything with a strong character and a good role where I can explore myself. Plus I also want to do a romantic flick. A memorable incident on set? Recently few of The Buddy Project fans were on our set. They brought us flowers, cake etc. The best part is that a fan had written a manuscript for me. We got to know that they love us so much and this was an overwhelming incident. Who is your best friend on the sets? I am not being diplomatic, but I gel well with all my co-actors. I share my makeup room with Manish Navani (Avi), so definitely we tend to share more of talks than I do with others. It is a brotherly bonding between us. What do you do to unwind yourself? Gymming ! Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? A prominent face in movies, if everything goes well.
