Ali Merchant, currently seen in Bandini and Twinkle Bajpai of Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan fame have something in common. The two have apparently changed their names. Ali has added an extra ‘c’ in Merchant while Twinkle now calls herself Tia. Says Merchant, “I got my name changed by Sanjay Jumani, who is a dear friend. Nothing specific about it, he just told me it would be beneficial for me if I could add an extra ‘c’ in Merchant. So I agreed to it and now I would be Ali Mercchant. It is the first day of this new name today.” Meanwhile Twinkle says, “I do not believe in numerology so it is not the reason why I have changed my name. Twinkle is a very kiddish name and I was fed up people treating me as a child. Secondly I am doing a film so I did not want to start something new with this feeling so I have changed my name to Tia.”
