People have made indecent proposals in the name of casting couch - Kabir Singh

Kabir Singh
There are many actors who sing the song, ‘bambai humko jam gayi’ when their dreams turn into reality, especially when they have come to Mumbai in pursuit of achieving greater heights!! One such example to this is the Delhi boy, Kabir Singh who always dreamt of being a top model and an established actor. The Mr. India 2008 finalist has walked the ramp for Wills India, Lakme Fashion Weeks and has endorsed big-brand ad campaigns for Yamaha, ITC and Levi's, among others. Talking about his aspirations, Kabir says, “I am an established model and I now plan to make it big on the small screen. I have aspirations in Bollywood too, but I feel one can never be out of work in the television industry.” While he has recently completed his shoot for Fireworks Productions’ Shapath, the dashing model turned actor has been auditioning for some roles which satisfy his hunger for niche roles. “I have auditioned for some shows and I keep my fingers crossed for them to pan out. I want to essay negative and grey shaded roles which are chick and stylish. I am not interested in doing saas-bahu drama where I only have to laugh or cry with a family,” he adds. Talking about his struggling phase, the actor mentions that it is very essential to have focus. He laughs saying, “There are many crabs in the industry, but no one can pull you down till the time you are focused.” Another interesting flipside to the coin is the casting couch which dominates the industry. He immediately quips, “It is not that it does not exist. As an aspiring actor, people have made indecent proposals in the name of casting couch. But then the choice is on the person whether he or she would want to get into it or not. My family has taught me to never take short cuts in life. Moreover, I am neither hungry for money nor desperate for work. I am passionate and want to work more for the happiness of my family and myself.” Kabir, we wish you all the best for your journey in this industry!!!
