Go out and vote: Appeal TV celebs (#Voteforchange feature 1)
It's an interesting time, right before the 16th general elections, when political parties have put up strong candidates and pitted them against those of other parties in their bid to wrest power at the Centre for having a free hand run of a National Government. And while the candidates go about canvassing for themselves so that their party can get a majority, we as responsible citizens need to vote for the betterment of our Nation. Voting isn’t just important to smooth functioning of the government, it is equally important for one to keep an eagle’s eye view and see the wrongdoings of someone and raise their voice against it. In short, one can’t have a successfully run democratic government without citizens actively participating in the voting process. In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, celebrities from the television industry come together to appeal people to go out and vote. Ashish Sharma: I would like to appeal to everyone especially the ones who live in the metros, to go out and vote. One thing that we shouldn’t forget is that every vote counts. Mrunal Thakur: Since on the day of election, people are in a different frame of mind, I would advise them to go out and vote. If we want a change of government for good, we need to vote for the right candidate. Kunwar Amar: I would want to request not only my fans but everyone out there to go and vote. We always crib about the shortcomings that our nation faces. Voting can bring in revolutionary changes as a single vote can help someone win and the other lose. I think that people who do not vote have no right to blame the government for its inadequacy as one can only do that that if they use their right to vote effectively. Kratika Sengar: We all know that our future lies in our own hands. Hence, people should vote for the right candidate as we need a change not only for our nation but also for ourselves. I would request everyone to vote and choose the righteous person among the candidates from each ones’ constituency. Harshad Arora: As a responsible citizen of the country, I would appeal to people at large to vote as this would be for the development of our country. Karan Tacker: I sincerely advise people not to sell their votes and be honest. Voting is very important when one needs to be very selective while voting for the right party. I would like to request people to vote for the ruling party only if they feel that it has done all the right things in its five-year tenure. There may be a local party that might have the potential and if they feel it will make a difference, they should definitely vouch for it. Nikita Sharma: I favour Modi because I personally think he can bring a change for the betterment of our system. In fact, I would like to appeal to people to vote as by doing so, we can exercise our control over our country affairs. Mohammad Nazim: Voting is a very important exercise for every one as choosing the right candidate helps in bringing revolutionary changes in the society we live in. Voting is essential for the benefit of our nation and when one chooses the right party, it helps in eradication of inefficiency. Therefore I request everyone to go and cast their vote as it is our right. Giaa Maanek: I personally feel that people who have reached the legitimate age to go out and vote. They should use their voting rights as some parties might not stand up to one’s expectations while there could be some which can bring in a change. Arjun Bijlani: Voting is a very important exercise for all as once the government is formed, people start cribbing about its shortcomings and this mostly comes from people who have not voted. That is the reason why we should all vote and make a difference. I would request everyone to make a voter id and make sure to go out and cast his/her vote.
