An angry Karan Johar today lashed out at a tabloid report suggesting deep animosity brewing between him and actor Imran Khan. The report suggested that Karan was quite peeved at Imran after the latter delivered a dud in the form of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. Karan allegedly pinned the blame for the movie’s debacle on Imran. Also, if the reports were to be believed then Imran had offered to return his paycheck to Dharma after an alleged showdown with Karan. Thrashing these reports as nothing but mere rubbish, Karan sought to clear all concerns regarding his current relation with Imran. Replying to our direct query on whether all is well between him and Imran, Karan said, “I am very close to Imran both personally and as professional associates too. The recent reportage suggesting problems between us is absolutely ridiculous. I am extremely close to not just Imran but his wife Avantika too. Both are extremely dear to me and I would love to work with Imran in the near future.” On the issue of returning the paycheck, Imran had said, ‘You should be asking this question to Karan and not me.’ When Karan was informed about Imran’s quote, the filmmaker nonchalantly said, “Imran was probed about it and that is what made him say this.” Karan’s absence at Avantika’s baby shower had also raised many eyebrows for Karan has always been a part of Imran’s earlier family functions. But the filmmaker sought not to attach way to much importance to this issue. When quizzed about his absence at Avantika’s baby shower, Karan said, “I think baby shower is more of a woman’s function and I don’t think the entire Bollywood fraternity was invited. I wish Avantika and Imran good luck and success. With reference to wishing anyone on birthday, I don’t think anyone talks about who wished and who did not. And I am surprised that such a story can find its way into the media. It is abysmal.” Well, let’s hope the Imran-Kjo pair unites in the near future for a film.
