Raj Kapoor was born on the 14th December, 1924. Raj Kapoor was the well-known son Prithviraj Kapoor. To begin with his journey in the industry of Bollwood he first acted, directed and produced Aag in the year 1948 with his company RK films. His next movie was Barsaat which releasd in the year 1949. In the year 1951 he starred, produced and directed in Aawara, which co-starred the beautifil Nargis. This movie was also released in a few parts os Russia. He was born in peshawar in the north West frontier province in India. He is the grandson of Deewan Bhaheswarnath Kapoor and the great grandson of Deewan Keshavmal Kapoor. He had a younger sister Urmila Sial and two younger brothers Shami Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor. Raj Kapoor's break came in by playing the lead role in the movie Neel Kamal in the year 1947 co- starring the beautiful Madhubala. In the year 1978, he also directed and starred in the movie 'Mera Naam Joker'. This movie took more than six years to complete. This movie received a set back as it did not do too well financially. He launched his eldest son Randhir Kapoor in the movie Kal Aaj Aur Kal in the year 1971 and his second son Rishi Kapoor in the movie 'Bobby' in the year 1973 introducing Dimple kapadia to the industry. It was the first time where in Dimple Kapadia wore a bikini and brought a new trend in the Bollywood industry. In the years 1970's and 1980's he directed films like Satyam Shivam Sundaram in the year 1978 co-starring Zeenat Aman, Prem Rog in the year 1982 and Ram Teri Ganga maile in the year 1985. His last film appearance was in the year 1982 and was seen in the movie Vakil Babu. He died on 2nd June, 1988 as he suffered from a lot of complications due to Asthama. The countries top cardiologist tried to save him but failed to do so. Mukesh and Mana Dey were Raj Kapoor's voices in the songs like Shree 420 and Chori Chori. He also acted for a British movie known as 'Kim' in the year 1984. The Charlie Chaplin of India is no more but has certainly left us a huge mark in the Acting industry not only in India but also world- wide.
