Fireworks Productions has been serving the Indian television industry by churning out some mind boggling shows for years now. We doubt there will be a single soul in this country who would have not watched at least one episode of CID (Sony Entertainment Television). Now, the production house’s silent comedy on SAB TV, Gutur Gu, is wrapping up on 30 June 2012. But they are coming up with another project on the channel. Shares Producer B P Singh, “The show is titled, I Dream of Jeannie. It used to air almost ten years ago on Sony and we have brought the rights of it.”

Gutur Gu (SAB TV) produced by Fireworks Productions opened new doors in the realm of comic content in Indian television. Well, when majority of comedy shows fail to tickle the funny bone with all their dialogues and funny histrionics, Gutur Gu, being a silent comedy, brought smiles on the lips of masses for more than two years. But as they say, all good things come to an end someday. Accordingly, Gutur Gu is going off air and it will air for the last time on 30 June (2012).

This was on the cards. A show which is so popular amongst the masses was meant to spread its wings. Yes, we are talking about Sony Entertainment Television’s <em><a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/after-janvi-chheda-viineet-kumar-join-cid-team>CID</a></em> (produced by <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/b-p-singh-truly-genius>B P Singh</a>’s Fireworks). <em>Tellychakkar.com</em> has learned that the makers are all set to launch the cult show in Bengali to enchant the Bengali masses with its fast spaced crime diaries.

<a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/b-p-singh-truly-genius>B P Singh</a> is on a high these days. Apart from his show, <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/vivek-quit-cid>CID</a> that airs on Sony Entertainment doing well; there’s something else that is keeping him happy. Bollywood’s upcoming action spy film, <em>Agent Vinod</em> that stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, will have the ace director in it. B P Singh will play Saif Ali Khan’s boss, the head of RAW (Research and Analysis Wing).

The TV Queen will now be seen playing herself in an episodic on Sony’s <em><a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/cid-turns-bi-weekly-gets-some-new-faces-board>CID</a></em>.

Well, there’s big news for all the loyal viewers of <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/cid-oldest-show-going-strongest-too>CID</a>. The longest running fiction show on Sony is according to the grapevine being made into a film. Fireworks, the producer of <em>CID</em> have grand plans of turning the successful and immensely popular series into a 70 mm dream with the same star cast. Says a source, “We have been toying with this idea for a long time now, and everything is undergoing a process, as the show is very popular among the masses, and we are working out the other details.”
