If you thought that Asma Rafi’s elimination took you by surprise then you’re in for a real shocker in the coming episode of <em> Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009</em>. Kolkata’s Debojit Dutta, who was touted as the favourite, has been evicted from the show.

Competition and rivalry crept in right from the first episode with trouble brewing between the contestants of <em>Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar.</em> There is an evident underlining friction and tussle between Toshi and Vineet with both of them wanting to perform on the same song i.e.<em> Lagan Lagan Lag Gayi Re</em> from <em>Tere Naam.</em> Toshi believes his voice is best suited to songs sung by Sukhwinder and hence is persistent on choosing the song for himself, while Vineet is confident of giving an ace performance on the song and hence insists on performing on it.

His wild card entry attracted criticism from some quarters but at the end of the grand finale of<em> Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007</em>, Aneek Dhar was crowned the undisputed winner. The 17-year-old from Kolkata pipped Bikaner's Raja Hasan by a whopping 13 lakh votes to win the musical reality show. Apart from bagging a Rs 50 lakh contract with Zee TV and Universal Music, Aneek won a Chevrolet spark car too.

A fter luring young viewers for almost two years with a rugged urban romance<em> Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai, </em>Sony TV is now ready with another fresh and soulful love story <em>Kaajjal Sabbki Aankhon Mein Basi.</em> Produced by Twenty Twenty Television Company, the daily soap will woo viewers with a story of a `beauty and the beast' -somewhat akin to the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy from Jane Austen's famous novel Pride and Prejudice.

As Silchar's Debojit bagged the most coveted title of being India's voice, his wife couldn't fight back tears as she related stories of their struggle to make it big! Debojit Saha, the winner of <em>Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge </em> is not just basking in the glory of his first album; in fact the singer has decided to move ahead in life. Debojit, who has returned from stage shows in US and Canada is all set to launch a regional (Assamese) album which will have eight songs in all.
