Produced by Keanu Reeves and directed by Christopher Kenneally’s globally acclaimed documentary Side by Side is to be the opening attraction at the 0110 International Digital Film Festival 2013 (IDDF 2013), generally recognized as the destination for New Wave Cinema in India.

Changing tracks, Akshay Kumar, who was so far been associated only with mainstream Hindi films, has produced a documentary on the effects of global warming. Titled <em>White Knight</em>, the film is about Chewang Norphel of Leh, who makes artificial glaciers to conserve water for those living in high altitude areas.

Director Shoojit Sircar, who made the unreleased Johnny Mastana with the Big B, is all set to release a documentary on the Big B which would reveal the mega-star in moods never seen before. The film that Sircar is now putting together is based on the extensive tours of Gujarat that the director undertook when he shot 14 films promoting Gujarat tourism.
