On August 15, 2011 India will celebrate its 64th year of independence. Many will be happy with the fact that this year the date falls on Monday and that would mean an extended weekend. So is Independence Day nothing but just another holiday? Have we forgotten the sacrifices of those who spilled their blood so that we can breathe in free air?

India's 60th Independence Day... expectedly, it's time to hoist and celebrate. Subsequently, 15th August will see the Prime Minister hoisting the flag at Red Fort followed by the glilttering parade. While these festivities transpire every year, we think the relevance of this historic day isn't catching up with the youth.
