Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol 6 has got its winner in the 21 year old Vipul Mehta from Amritsar. Vipul has been impressive from Round One and has got praised by all the judges. The Grand Finale of Indian Idol was studded with celebrities. Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra came in to promote their upcoming flick Barfee, while Madhur Bhandarkar and Kareena Kapoor promoted their upcoming movie Heroine on the big platform of Idol. Ileana DCruz was also seen gracing the finale.

The countdown to the Grand Finale of Indian Idol 6 which will be aired on September 1 2012 on Sony Entertainment Television has begun!! And the Top 4 contestants will face a new challenge in this week’s Elimination Episode when they come face to face with the talented singers of <em>Indian Idol 5</em>. We hear that Swaroop Khan, Bhumi Trivedi, Shivam Pathak and Rakesh Maini, contestants from the previous season of Indian Idol will be seen in Saturday’s (18 August 2012) episode.

With stardom comes a lot of fame and responsibility too and Indian Idol 6 contestant Vipul Mehta seems to have taken up the job seriously.

Sohini Mishra was looking forward to the Classical round in Sony Entertainment Television’s <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/fun-dhammal-and-masti-indian-idols-5th-gala-round>Indian Idol 6</a> as it suited her style of singing and it was a genre she was sure to excel in. However, the girl gets a shock today as she gets eliminated even after giving a decent performance in the Classical round. Along with her, Ritika Raj and Poorvi Koutish were in the bottom three.

The fifth gala round saw the legendary Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj join the Top 6 contestants for an Indian classical fusion themed episode. All the judges and contestants touched his feet and took his blessings. He performed a song which had everyone mesmerized. Pandit<em>ji</em> was seen complementing Asha<em>ji</em>’s necklace. He also offered the judges supari that he always carries and eats.
