Narayani Shastri

The whole of telly town knows by know that Narayani Shastri threw a birthday bash recently at a suburban eatery. But what's still incognizant is an inside dope that the venue was provided FOC (free of cost) to the actor as the restaurant derived publicity out of the same. And if buzz is to be digested this is the same joint where Ms. Shastri has thrown parties in the past too. In fact Narayani is these days regularly spotted at movie premiers and socials with her on-and-off swain Gaurav Chopra. Seems in this sultry summer painting the town red is this lady's cooling mantra.

If the latest buzz in television circles is to be believed, Narayani Shastri, who dazzled as Piya Ka Ghar's Rimjhim and will now return as a beautician in Twinkle Beauty Parlour, has a new friend. She's always been tight lipped about her relationships, but did make a lot of public appearances with former beau Gaurav Chopra (who, incidentally, has been the more vocal and mileage seeking of the two). Now we hear (and no, it isn't Gaurav who's telling us this!) that Narayani has been regularly in touch with Nana Patekar, who was her co-star in last year's Marathi flick Pak Pak Pakak.

Rose Audiovisuals' new show Twinkle Beauty Parlour has quite an interesting starcast! But what really drew our attention is the name of the parlour -- Twinkle! There's no one in the show who goes by that name! The owner of the parlour is Ranjana, played by Narayani Shastri who's from Delhi...not Twinkle...as the title of the show seems to suggest! We hazarded a guess -- is it a take on North Indian sensibilities??? (read Delhi), we wonder. Anyways, when contacted, producer Shrishti Arya's voice took on a mischivious note and she asked us to wait and watch! We will!

Actors have a hectic shoot schedules especially if they are working in a daily soap. But Anuj Saxena besides being an actor is also a businessman and has a production house Maverick. So for such a person vacation is normally out of question. But this time Anuj has gone to Bangkok with his parents for a vacation. If you happen to spot Juhi Parmar or Narayani Shastri at the international airport you may guess where they are heading for. What say Anuj? <strong>Supriya in a slew of films!</strong>

Did you know that just when the Indian Telly Awards were getting underway, rumours flew thick and fast in the city that Smriti Z Iraani (Tulsi of <em>Kyunki...</em>) had died in a road accident. We called to check and Smriti herself attended the call. "I am horrified to know this! Some journalists even called up my husband to offer condolences. Don't people have any anything else to do? she asked, obviously peeved. Though of course, when we suggested that it would have been better if someone had spread the rumour that she was pregnant with her third kid, it was her turn to laugh.
