The TV industry is abuzz with tales of Smriti Iraani bringing her popular Gujarati play, Maniben.com on the small screen. However, will this turn into a reality remains to be seen as it’s also speculated that after her initial willingness, Smriti has shelved the idea.
We called up Smriti but she was busy in meeting. Later, we sent her a text regarding the same but there was no response.
Actor Nitin Vakharia, who was paired opposite Smriti in Maniben.com says, “Smriti Iraani had approached me with this idea but since then I haven’t heard a word from her.”

Actor turned producer Smriti Irani is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Kishori Shahane’s production Mallik Ek. The film is based on the life of Sai Baba and how he solves the issues that his devotees face. The movie is directed by Kishori’s husband Deepak Balraj Vij under his own production banner Om The Mantra Production Sai Ram.
After making a grand comeback after almost one year on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi , actress turned producer Smriti Irani is all set to produce a show for Zee titled Waaris.
The show reportedly will start airing from 16 June at 11:00 pm. It will have the likes of Iqbal Khan , Yuvraj Malhotra, Rucha Gujrati and Aashka Goradia.
Yuvraj Malhotra, one of the leads of the show, says, “Rucha and Aashka have been penned down to play the lead actresses in the show. Rucha will be opposite me while Aashka will play love interest to Iqbal.”
Aashka Goradia is on cloud nine. After Smriti's Virrudh on Sony, the pretty actress has bagged a plum role in Mere Apne on 9X. Happy with this arrangement she wants to stay on with Ugraya Entertainment (Smriti's production company) for some time now.
We caught her in a very cheerful and upbeat mood. We slowly discover it is her birthday. Tellychakkar wishes her a great year.
In the interview that follows Aashka chats up issues close to her heart.
