Happy Gudi Padwa, wish Marathi TV actors

Gudi Padwa, the first day of Marathi calendar, is considered to be an auspicious time for new beginnings and ventures. On this day Maharashtrians decorate their doorway with a 'toran', perform rituals and hoist the Gudi. On this festival we spoke to few Maharashtrian actors and they shared their celebration plans with us.

Pranali Ghogare

Since today is the first day of the year as per Marathi calendar, I woke up early in the morning and started preparing sweets with my mom. My family will put Gudi outside the door following which I will be coming to the sets (Mere Rang Mein Rangne Waali). My mom has made shrikhand puri, pooran poli. I am planning to buy a new car on Gudi Padwa as this festival is very special for me and would wish everyone a very happy Gudi Padwa.

Two days back was my daughter’s birthday but we planned to celebrate it today, so in the morning we had a pooja and later in the evening there is a party. I can’t wear Navari as we have kept a princess theme for her birthday. We make gud ka sheera and pooran poli on this day. I wish everyone Happy Gudi Padwa.

My mom and Natasha (wife) will be preparing sweets. During childhood I relished the sweet placed over the Gudi. All day I used to wait for that Gudi to come down so that I could eat the sweets. I miss and cherish those sweet memories.

We both will be performing pooja as this is our first Gudi Padwa after our marriage so it is very special for us. I might make pooran poli rest all sweets will be prepared by my mom and mother-in-law. I will wear a Navari saree and may buy some gold today.
