They are the little wonders of Indian television. Their honey toned voices act as a balm for the wearied souls. Yes, we are talking about the incredibly talented singers of Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol Junior season 2 (Fremantle).

Now with the show almost hitting its last leg, here we profile the six contestants who have sung their way to the top. They all are little gems of the world of singing. Have a look:

Ananya Sritam Nanda:

Ananya is the silent one, doesn't talk much and what matters to her is the competition. She is not friends with many and sits reserved. She feels her lucky charm is Anandji, when she looks at him and perform she does well. She moves her hands while she sings.

Ananya is from Bhubaneshwar. Her mother is a housewife and father is working as a director in a government industrial department. She has an elder sister who is 9 years older than her. She was a last year contestant, who was eliminated in the 1st round of theatres. She is a daddy's girl who gives her whatever she wants but is also very scared of him. She wants to become a scientist. Once Ananya's school teacher heard her in school and came at her home and informed her parents that she wants to teach music to Ananya. From that day, Ananya started learning music. She loves listening to new songs and likes to do research on them. She is very talkative in nature and is very close to her elder sister. She is very kind, emotional & mature in nature.

Niharika Nath:

Niharika is the soulful singer of everybody. Whenever she sings, she makes the song hers. Niharika also doesn't talk much. She wants to do a lot of things for her family as she says that her family has gone through a lot for her so she wants to give something in return.

Niharika is 12 years and is from Kolkata. Mother is a housewife, dad is in Health Department in Government. He stays in Tripura with his whole family and Niharika stays in Kolkata just because she wants to make her career in singing. Her elder brother is pursuing engineering and he sings too. She studies in St. Joseph and Mary School in 8th STD. She becomes happy when her dad comes home. Her sad moments are when her dad goes back to Tripura. She has come to make career only in singing so she believes that Indian Idol is a big platform for her. Her parents don't allow her to watch horror movies, just because her mom gets scared. She wants her own music system. She wants her dad to stay with her. She wants to be a government employee if not a singer. Zindagi ka maksad kya hai - "sabko gaana gaakar khush rakhna, mein chahti hoon log jaane pehchaane". She likes to watch cartoons and reality shows on TV. Her favourite movie is Bang Bang, favorite actor is Hritik Roshan and favorite actress is Katrina Kaif. She'll gift them her own handmade painting. She likes Lata Mangeshkar and Shreya Ghoshal. Her favourite color is blue as it's a soothing color. She likes to eat Paneer.

Moti Khan

Moti is the most desi contestant on the show. Moti is really happy to be on idol. He makes fun of the kids, pulls their legs. He has gifted every judge and anchor on the show pagdis and keeps the Rajasthani flavour alive through his talent and dressing style. He is good friends with Surendra and Ajay, says that Surendra became friends with him since the day they met on Idol.

Moti is 14 years old from Badmer, Rajasthan.

Father was worker in khadhi making factory earlier, but left that job due to health issues and joined family music group. The family belongs to Manganiar Gharana, Rajasthan.  They perform Rajasthani songs for Raj- Maharaja in Rajasthan. They are also called to perform in foreign countries. Mother is also a musician.  His chachaji is his guru. The contestant plays instrument like khartaal, harmonium and dholak. He likes songs of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. He wants to improve facilities in his villages as it is a very remote place. The contestant has one elder brother and three sisters. He is an animal lover, have pets like goat and cow at home. His favourite hero is Shah Rukh Khan. He likes wearing traditional attire.

He is learning how to play dholak and harmonium from four months.

Vaishnav Girish:

Vaishnav is known as the Kurta King as he has got a lot of kurtas. He never sings without having a teeka on his forehead. He loves to eat chicken a lot.

Vaishnav is 11 years old from Thirssur, Kerala. Vaishnav studies in Holy Grace Academy in class 7^th and his mother is Advocate in the High Court of Kerala. His father is a bank employee (Canara Bank) and Brother is an MBA. All members in his family sing well and have a musical legacy. When Vaishnav was very young he used to hear music on radio. He also saw his elder brother singing in competitions and winning prizes. Vaishnav got inspired from his elder brother and then joined singing classes. He is very punctual during singing practice. He understands Hindi but can't speak in Hindi properly. He is a mumma's boy. He thinks he is lazy and he wants to change that in him. He has got a lot of friends in school. He is chubby and very sweet in nature. The entire family sits together every evening and sings.

V. Nithyashree:

Nithyashree is the eldest of the lot. Almost every contestant respects her and calls her didi, akka/akka noodle for fun. She is struggling to learn Hindi but is also learning different languages at the hotel.

She is 15 and studies in FBOA School in class 12^th.  Dad is an electrical engineer in Chennai petroleum, mom – housewife, elder sister software engineer. She is learning music and her hobbies are nail art, dance, glass painting. She is also an athlete, a shuttle player. Her happiest moment was when she got call from Indian Idol Junior for Mumbai audition. Saddest moment was when she failed in the 11th standard. She is talkative, friendly but reserved kind off, stubborn on her point, pointless debater, more into junk food, she likes pet. If she wins Indian Idol she would give half of money to handicapped people and open a music school.

She knows how to play kazoo, new instrument which she bought from US. Kazoo adds a buzzing timbral quality to a player's voice when the player vocalises into it.

Nahid Afreen:

Nahid is the Rapunzel of Indian Idol. She is known for her beautiful long hair and with this virtue of hers, she has given complex to almost everyone on Idol, including Vishal and Asha. Nahid also imitates Asha really well. She says that her society never supported her singing but she and her family understands her talent and have stepped out of home to prove it. Her parents are really proud of her achievements and expect a lot from her.

Father is a government employee, junior engineer in PNRD, he also sings.  Mom is a housewife. She has a younger brother. She is good in acting too. She has done state level competition in one act play. She was also 2nd best actress in her school. She is learning vocal music since 6 years. Her uncle is a good singer and guitarist too. She is giving final exam of Visharad, Part 1. She reads books; her favourite book is A Diary Of a Young Girl. She reads current affair and story books. She likes Discovery and National Geography channel, also watches cartoons. Her favourite actors are Salman khan and Aamir Khan. She says they are very good as a person and they both give very good speech. Her favourite actress is Dipika Padukone.

She follows Hema Malini in acting. She likes Sonakshi Sinha’s dressing sense. Her favorite movie is 3 Idiots because she says she learnt from the movie that, “Not to run behind success, if you work hard success follows you”. She is very good in academics. Her cousins call her Kumbhakarni because she sleeps a lot. Even if anyone will play drums beside her she will not wake up. Her biggest wish is to become both a singer and an actor.
