Our Punjabi friends not only celebrate Baisakhi as the festival of harvest but they also do so to commemorate the establishment of the Khalsa panth or Sikh order by tenth Sikh Guru, Gobind Singh. While the Sikh community in the northern part of our country are rejoicing while celebrating the harvest by dancing, merry making, wearing festive garments and singing religious praises, a large number of devotees have also thronged the Gurudwaras across the states of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi including the Golden Temple to mark the Baisakhi festival that is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm all around. In our zest to know if this festival is celebrated in Mumbai with equal zeal, we spoke to a few Punjabi television actors, who have established themselves in the GEC space, on their plans of celebrating the auspicious festival today. Kinshuk Mahajan: I am sure that people in Delhi celebrate Baisakhi with much fervor but in Mumbai this festival does not have any charm. In fact, I do not think people even celebrate it here. However, I would like to wish all the readers of Tellychakkar.com a very happy and colorful Baisakhi. Daljeet Bhanot: Well, I am not celebrating Baisakhi in traditional manner but I made sure to make my day special by having something sweet. So I had some yummy mangoes while my parents went to the Gurudwara to seek blessings for all of us (laughs). Ragini Khanna: I am delighted that I have started shooting for my first episode of Gangs of Hasseepur on Zee TV on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi. So, I am very excited and feel lucky about it. Karan Mehra: I am sure that if I was in the North, I would have been celebrating the festival with a lot of excitement, but as of now, I am busy shooting. I would however like to wish everyone a very Happy Baisakhi. Akshay Dogra: I have never seen anyone celebrating Baisakhi in this city. Baisakhi is very special to me as it marks 11 years of me and my wife Sakshi's (Dogra) relationship. Here I would like to wish a very happy Baisakhi for whoever this day holds special significance. Gaurav Chopraa: On the professional front, I have been shooting for Baisakhi sequences for my show Uttaran, but on the personal front I have not been able to celebrate Baisakhi. But for the time being in-between our shots we have had our share of celebrations.
