Kashmiri beauty Hina Khan is a known face in the world of television today. Playing Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Star Plus), Hina has earned the respect and love of the masses. Professionally, she has been a poignant performer, but on and off, stories about her personal life has kept hitting the headlines. Media reported of Hina being in a relationship with Neeraj Baliyan, who wore the director’s hat for her show. Although the two had been together for a long time now, they had never gone public on their love equation. But their affair was common knowledge in the industry. It is said that Neeraj helped Hina a lot to find her footing in the industry when she first came to Mumbai from Kashmir. He also taught her the basics of the acting craft. But now we hear that the couple has gone separate ways. The first whiff that ‘all was not well between the two’ came during a recent party which Hina had thrown to celebrate completion of five years of her above Director’s Kut’s show. At the bash, Neeraj was conspicuously absent from the scene. Hence, we got to work and soon unearthed the news that the couple has indeed split. Furthermore, we have also learnt, from credible sources, that apparently Hina’s parents don’t approve of Neeraj as the prospective groom. Besides being from a different religion, as per sources, Neeraj is also not socially very updated. When we spoke to Hina, at first she lightly brushed aside the news of the break-up saying, “When we were never ever together, so where is the question of a break up?” However, when we broached the notion that her parents did not approve of her relationship and might have influenced her decision to take a call on it, she got testy and just mentioned, “no comments.” We then got in touch with Neeraj, who also maintained the same line that there was nothing between them. When asked about Hina’s parents, he said, “They have always been cordial to me. Where is the question of them getting angry at me when we are no more than friends?” They might deny, but what seems evident at this point of time is that Hina and Neeraj have called it quits.
