According to some sources, the downfall of this show was caused by the production house's (Hats Off) preference for Gujju actors that made them veer from the original storyline and give importance and more screen time to Gujju actors like Rajiv Mehta, Dimple Shah and relatively unknown actors which the viewers could not relate to. In the current track, popular and main lead stars like Raahil Azam and Moulli Ganguly were sidelined and this did not go down well with the home audience. When confronted, Aatish Kapadia refuted the charges, saying, "I am often accused of this which is the most ridiculous, insidious and nepotistic accusation ever.
