This is definitely a shocking piece of news coming straight from the sets of Colors’ show Thapki! The recently launched show by SOL and Shoonya Productions presents a positive outlook about a girl with stammering issue overcoming her worries and fulfilling her dreams. But off screen lurks a lot of negativity, is what we hear. A source from the set shared with us that today (17 June), the director of the show Rahib Siddiqui reportedly had a major altercation with one of the Assistant Directors named (AD) Sonu. Adds the source, “While filming a shot, Rahib got really furious and shouted at Sonu. It did not end there as in a state of anger he went to kick his assistant, injuring him badly. The other ADs are now scared to even go back on the sets.” Shocked aren’t you? When we buzzed the director Rahib, he seemed cool as he shared, “There is no personal attack, he is my AD and I have the right to scold him if he goes wrong. The incident is a common one on sets and I don’t know why it is being blown out of proportion. There has been no violence for sure, and Sonu is here on the set right now in front of me.” Though we couldn’t reach Sonu, an actor from Thapki on account of anonymity shared with us, “Rahib is a great director and his perfection sometimes turns torturous for people. I hope things get sorted soon.” A crew from the production also shared, “There was altercation but I don’t know if he hit someone.” We dropped a text to the channel spokesperson but did not receive a reply till the time of filing the story.
