Ali Asgar is co-hosting National Bingo Night along with Abhishek Bachchan. Ali is impressed with Junior Bachchan’s hosting completely. He spoke to us about his new job. His main part in the show will be to go-between the audience and Abhishek. “You can call me a co-host. It is fun and entertaining to be in the audience. The makers have changed the format of the show a bit, they have tried to make it more Indian. Actually, in the original format of the show, there is no one in my place. They decided to bring me in to play around the format a bit.” Ali was in two minds before accepting the offer. “I took some time before giving my nod. They approached me and explained the format to me. I thought about it a lot and then agreed. I didn’t have any doubts or fears that Abhishek being a bigger star will steal the limelight away. I always believe in what my heart says. But this is a different show, initially I was apprehensive but now I have got a hang of it and I am enjoying it too.” He can’t stop praising Abhishek. “He is down to earth and he’s probably the first star I have seen who despite belonging to such a big family has no attitude. He is very comfortable to work with and he makes things around him very smooth. He will never say ‘no’ to anything. He keeps on saying, ‘Ali will cover that part and I will cover this part’. He discusses the script before shooting and if anyone suggests any improvisation he will readily accept it. When I met him on first day, he told me that he has seen me in Comedy Circus and liked my performances a lot. It is amazing to see him on the stage; his language which is like part of his family’s heritage, his sense of humour everything is perfect. On the first day he seemed a bit nervous, but frankly speaking I am surprised and impressed with his hosting skills. I think everyone will love him.” Ali says he found all the celebrity episodes very entertaining. “Right from the Balika Vadhu kids, to Kirron Kher, Sonali Bendre, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan, everyone played the game so well and we had a great time interacting with them. But I am really looking forward to the episode with Amitji. I have worked with him in films like Aitbaar, Hum Kissi Se Kam Nahi, and I was a special guest on Kaun Banega Crorepati. But to watch the Bachchans on the same stage will be good fun.” Rashmi Nigam will also be seen in the show as the Bingo girl, she will come in with the ball with numbers on it and her role will be to call out the numbers. Like Abhishek said at the press launch of the show “she is going to be the eye candy of the show”.
