Daljeet Kaur and Shaleen Bhanot tied the knot last month, however within one week after his marriage, Shaleen started shooting for Rajshri's Do Hanso Ka Joda. He spoke to us about his married life and of course his show. Has your life changed after marriage? It has become more beautiful. I am in the 7th heaven now. I am very traditional. But I never thought I will enjoy my married life this much. Daljeet cooks tasty food for me every day. She tries new recipes and I give her full marks for that. She has introduced me to so many vegetables which I had never heard of or ate in my life. She calls me and asks me whether I have had lunch and all. It feels nice. Recently I had a spinal cervical injury, so she keeps checking on me if I am taking rest, my medicines, etc. When I go back home, I feel charged up and not bored or tired. Do you feel more responsible now? Responsibility comes from both the sides. It happens with both the partners. You start sharing things and living with another person. Daljeet is like a blessing for me, I was living here without my parents and like an angel, she entered my life. What changes did you find in Daljeet? She looks more gorgeous. Her sindoor, red bangles and mangalsutra makes me feel proud. It feels you have achieved something in your life and fooled one girl. Jokes apart but she has not changed much. The adjustments we are doing are only natural. Did you ever have a tiff with her? Thankfully we never fight much and if we do it's more out of care and concern for each other. Since I am not allowed to drive right now due to my injury she keeps telling me I should not drive and if she finds out that I drove my car then the tiff begins. So our tiffs are usually harmless. Is Daljeet planning to resume work? Yes, she is looking for work though right now she is settling in, making changes in the house. I have been shooting for the past five months for this show and it was very sweet of Rajshri to give me a few holidays for my wedding. I started shooting within a week of my marriage. I wonder why I didn't marry earlier! Marriage is a nice thing and I do not even miss my bachelorhood. Does she visit you on the sets? No she neither visits me nor brings me lunch like it happens in films. In fact I insist she joins me but she refuses to come. I think it is good otherwise I will get distracted. Your character in the show, in terms of the look, is very similar to Shah Rukh Khan's in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi? I have not seen the movie though I have been receiving calls asking about it. Actually the fact is if you see a small town simple guy he has a typical look. I too belong to a small town and I can relate to this character. A moustache is a must-have in small towns, and spectacles are very common today. But looks apart, the story is simple about a girl who dreams about getting married to a film star but has to marry Suryakamal. Later on she realizes that he too is capable of giving happiness from his small deeds. He won't have a makeover. Further if people will compare me with Shah Rukh and if he doesn't kick me after watching the show, it would be worth my while to have been compared to a legendary actor like him. How is director Kaushik Ghatak to work with? He is exactly like my character Suryakamal. I have seen many Amol Palekar movies where he also had a similar look. We keep on telling our director also that this character is inspired from him, he wears shirts identical to those I wear in the show.
