I want to be deeply and crazily in love with someone: Pranav Misshra

Aisi Deewangi lead Pranav Misshra speaks about his character, show, romance, struggle, co-star and more.

The powerhouse of talent Pranav Misshra is all set to make it big on small screen. After being part of few TV shows like Naagin, Jodha Akbar and others, Pranav has got a big break with Zee TV’s upcoming action packed love drama Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahi Kahin.

The channel flew journalists to the beautiful Laxmi Vilas Palace at Vadodara for the press launch. The show leads Pranav, Jyoti Sharma and veteran actor Rasik Dave began the conference with a live act to get the media witness the flavour of the show.

There are few actors who are full of life and we must say Pranav and Jyoti definitely top the list. Pranav, in his character look of Prem, greeted the media with sheer humbleness and began the conversation.

In a chit chat with Tellychakkar.com, Pranav spoke about his character, show, romance, struggle, co-star and more. Excerpts:

Aisi Deewangi will be your first show as a main lead. How excited or nervous are you?

It is a big show for me and it will be a lie if I say that I am not nervous, but I am also very, very excited. We have put in a lot of hard work. The entire team has work with dedication to present a very good story to viewers. I am waiting and hoping that everyone loves our show.

How did the acting bug bite you?

Back in time, I used to be part of skits in my hometown Jaipur and from there onwards I decided to make my career in acting. After my graduation, I shifted to Mumbai and started giving auditions to get a chance. This entire process was like a roller coaster ride. Like many other actors, I too had to stand in long queue for audition and got rejected numerous times. But I knew that at the end, it is a business, and you have to present yourself accordingly. If someone is investing on you, then you have to return something! I don’t believe in giving up and by God’s grace, today, I am sitting beside you and giving this interview.

Tell us a bit about your character?

I am playing the character of Prem who is the son of a well established father who happens to be a don but for his villagers he is like Robinhood. Though he is a don but at the same time he is very emotional and believes in helping people. Prem considers his father as a hero and has a lot of respect for him. He is a very down to earth guy but becomes an ‘angry young man’ if someone insults his father.

In the show you are very passionate and an angry young man, but how are you in real life?

I am a very passionate lover and short tempered guy in real life. But I think I am also very shy and a boring kind of person. I would prefer to go to sleep than go out to party.

Have you ever been deeply and madly in love with any girl?

I want to be crazily in love with someone and hoping that it will happen very soon.

After the launch of the promos, what kind of response are you getting especially from girls?

I am getting lots of Instagram and Facebook request. Apart from that, my family and friends are very happy.

What is your aspiration as an actor?

I don’t have lots of aspiration; I am just going with the flow. Yes, I don’t wish to play cliché kind of roles. Whatever show I have done till date I have played different characters. Prem also has different shades to his character.

Since it is a passionate love story, how comfortable are you kissing and doing intimate scenes on-screen?

Yes, I am very much comfortable. If the script demands, I consider it as a part of my job.

Whenever an actor plays an angry man in a show they get typecast, so does that bother you?

Not at all. If you would have asked me this question a few years back then my answer would have been yes. But now that time has gone, and television has grown leaps and bounds.

We have seen lots of actors falling in love on sets and since Jyoti is also single, is there any chance of romance off-screen?

(Laughs) Well, you have to hear this story. Recently, when we went on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, someone asked us that jab tum dono ne ek durse ko pehli baar dekha toh kya hua? And it took me back to the day I met Jyoti for the first time and I addressed her as my sister.

So, there is no chance of dating?

Well, you never know, life is unpredictable (smiles).

Three things people don’t know about you?

I am very low maintenance, simple and an emotional guy.

Your take on reality shows?

Dance shows are fine but my prime focus is acting.

Good luck, Pranav!
