Anurag Basu is reckoned as one of the finest filmmakers among the current crop. He has judged shows like Cinestars Ki Khoj and India’s Best Dramebaaz, and now for the first time, he will be seen judging a dance show.

The director will be on the kids' dance reality show Super Dancer on Sony Entertainment Television, where he would be sharing the panel with Shilpa Shetty and choreographer Geeta Kapur.

Judging is tough and I have nightmares about it

Judging is tougher than producing or directing movies. Earlier, I was a judge on an acting reality show, while this one is all about dancing. Sometimes, I wonder what I would do if a kid asks me to dance. I have nightmares thinking about it. I even asked the makers that why they picked me for the show and what my role was. They asked me to just see it as shot and say yes or no. I am representing audiences on the show.

I am dying to make one as I have so many ideas. I am going to convince all the channels to take my stories.

Watching TV is not there in my kids' system

In my kids' system, watching TV is not there. I will first watch the episode of Super Dancer, before allowing them. When you are not a parent, you see TRPs. Once you have a family, TRPs do not matter.

Kat-Ranbir’s break-up was never the reason for delay in Jagga Jasoos

The delay of Jagga Jasoos happened because of me as I did not shoot in 2015 at all. I shot in 2014, post Bombay Velvet and then jumped to 2016. Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor’s break-up was never the reason for the movie’s delay. I was also tensed about shooting with Kat-Ranbir as they aren't together but they were very professional. Ranbir is a good friend and it is good to work with friends.

Future projects

The biopic of Kishore Kumar is definitely happening. Ranbir Kapoor is not doing it right now. If I start it in 2017 then Ranbir will not be able to do it. I would have to go with some other actor. And Ranbir is okay with it. He has also told me that if it is further delayed (to 2018), then he would be able do it.
