Rahul Bhatt came into the spotlight after news of his connection with David Headley appeared and then cashing in on his ‘news appeal’, Bigg Boss invited him over to be one of the participants. The beefy Bhatt boy was often spotted sitting quietly in a corner when he was not helping Khali work out! Bhatt was the latest to be evicted and in an interview with TellyChakkar, he breaks his silence and talks his heart out. Are you happy or sad post your elimination from the house? I am happy. Why would I be sad when I have come out during Diwali. Was there a particular reason why you entered the Bigg Boss house? I wanted the audience to see me as I am and not in a glamorized way. I wanted everyone to know the real Rahul and in Bigg Boss I am the real Rahul. I am an introvert and I take time to open up. I have this selected group of friends who I like being with and I wanted the public to see me the way I was. Then why were you most of the time talking about your case in the initial days? There were no clarifications that I could have done after all the damage done by certain section of media. But, when Bigg Boss came my way I took it up because I wanted people to know me. I talked about my case because the other contestants in the house asked me certain questions and I was clarifying to them. What were the things that you liked and hated the most about the Bigg Boss house? I liked to be there as I got to meet some nice people like The Great Khali. He is on my top list of superstars and meeting him was my childhood fantasy and it did come true in the house. I did not like anything about the house for there was drama happening inside it all the time. People play stupid games with each other. The format of the game is mushy too. Again and again there have been talks of the reality shows being scripted. What is your take on it? Yes, the truth is it’s scripted and people like Dolly (Bindra), Ashmit (Patel) and Sara (Khan) are a part of it. It is manufactured drama and most of the people are working according to the scripts but I was being myself. They couldn't get me to do the drama because I do not need to be someone I am not. It is pre-planned and a few contestants have been given scripts for the audience needs that masala. I am a boring person because I wouldn't want to work that way. Maybe that was one of the reasons why I got lesser votes but I have no regrets whatsoever. Isn't Bigg Boss becoming a mixture of all reality shows from Perfect Bride to Splitsvilla? What are your views on Sara and Ali Merchant getting married in the Bigg Boss house? It's ridiculous and I am glad I am not a part of it. The 36 hours of police interrogation that I had been through was much better than being a part of this fake marriage! But, this is what the audience wants and that's what they are getting. Who according to you are genuinely being themselves in the house? The real people in the house are Khali, Anchal (Kumar), Manoj Tiwari and Hrishant (Goswami) to some extent. I could connect with them. When the entire house boycotted Dolly Bindra, only you supported her. Why? I did not want to boycott her for I don't get influenced with what ‘x’ says about ‘y’. I have already been in a similar circumstance when people have boycotted me and so I did what I felt was right. When there are already 12 people boycotting her in the house I did not want to do the same and I made my stand clear. And, she used to make amazing omelettes for me! But she was disturbing the peace of the house by screaming and shouting. Maybe that's the format of the show, that's what she has been asked to do. If she is really breaking the rules I think Bigg Boss should boycott her but she wasn't boycotted by him. In the confession room you had told that Shweta Tiwari was eyeing you. What made you say so? It was Sakshi Pradhan who was eyeing me and not Shweta Tiwari. I have always said that Shweta is Meryl Streep for me and she wasn't hitting on me. We could just see you chatting with Aanchal among all the other women in the house? You gave her your card too before moving out of the house. She was the only girl I could connect with. She is very nice, well mannered and cultured. Actually she was the one who gave me her card which was really sweet of her. There are rumours of Khali moving out of the house. Do you know anything about it? I want Khali to win the show but things keep changing in the Bigg Boss house, friends turn into enemies. Can't say who is going and who is staying but Khali is a decent guy and he takes things professionally and sportingly. He is not playing the game like the others. He is anyways losing his strength and he needs practice. After Bigg Boss what do you plan to do career wise? I wouldn't mind doing a fitness reality show for I am the best person to be there. I have the technical know-how. But, TV is something I can't do much so I will go for action-romantic movies. I would like to do characters that I can pull off well. So, do you plan to do just Mahesh Bhatt movies or you are open to all? I am open to outside projects too but you don't get better than Mahesh Bhatt in the business. Are you dating anyone at present? Maybe I am and maybe I am not but once Aanchal (Kumar) is out of the house, I will ask her out. And maybe we can have coffee while walking on the treadmill! Ali Merchant had commented on everyone in the house including you saying, ‘They are all strugglers’. Comment! He is right I am a struggler; I am not as rich as him. So, I humbly agree with his statement for without Mahesh Bhatt I am just a simple gym instructor.
