Mohammad Nazim, we can say is the most balanced guy on television. As Ahem, the young guy is sensible enough to balance it well between his on-screen wife and mother. Even after being part of the successful show Saath Nibhana Saathiya on Star Plus for years, Nazim enjoys every moment of playing the coveted role.

In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Mohammad Nazim speaks about his Saathiya journey, co-stars and about himself.

How has the journey of Saathiya been for you?

It has been a fabulous journey so far, and it is pleasing to see that viewers continue to shower their love on the show.

Do you think you have got good limelight playing second fiddle to Gopi?

Earlier I thought that it's a show which concentrates more on women, but later there have been various layers that have opened up in Ahem. He reacts differently when he’s a mumma’s boy, as a husband and as a father too. So I have lots to explore and even learn.

What do you think is the secret to Saathiya’s success?

There's is no secret to Saathiya's success. People love the different twists and drama that get introduced at a regular basis. Presently, viewers have been chewing their nails, on seeing Kokila’s double role. There is huge curiosity on what will happen next, and what the motive of the fake Kokila is, and how will the real one be saved.

How has it been working with Rashmi Sharma?

Working with Rashmi Sharma is great. The bonding with Rashmiji and the director Pawan Kumarji is great. They co-operate and understand my needs, and I am happy to be juggling between other commitments of mine in addition to Saathiya. As of now, I am also shooting for a movie and they work out my shoot schedule accordingly.

What do you think is the scope for male actors in TV today?

There is nothing specific. The scope for male actors lies in their skills and talent.

Tell us something about Mohammad Nazim.

Mohmmad Nazim is totally different from his character Ahem. My on-screen character is a mumma's boy and a well educated corporate person, whereas Nazim is fun loving, naughty and the one who has a good bonding with everyone on the set.

What are you passionate about in real life?

I am passionate about exercise in my real life.

Are you a fitness freak? What are your exercise patterns?

Yes I am a fitness freak. I go to the gym six days in a week, no matter how my schedule for the day is. Even if my shoot gets over at 10 pm at night, I still make it to the gym and exercise.

How do you think you have grown as an actor with time?

My growth as an actor has been impressive. Earlier I did not think of being noticed, but in the last 5 years I have got 3 awards. So that gives me a good feeling.

You are awaiting the release of your Punjabi movie. Tell us about it.

Well, the release dates of it are not confirmed yet. So I will wait for the right time to talk.

We hear you are shooting for one more movie. What is it?

Yes, I am shooting for another Punjabi movie, Big Daddy in Punjab. We will be going to Australia for a schedule later in the year. It is a total family movie; it is about a boy who is fun-loving, carefree and the manner in which he chooses to live life.

Who are your close friends from the industry?

I have very few friends from the industry. But I get along well with my co-actors in the Saathiya team like Paras Babbar, Vishal Singh, Devoleena for the last four years.

What is the kind of genre you will take up next?

There is no specific genre as such. Right now I am shooting for movies, but nothing particular for now.

Do you mind trying your hand at reality shows?

No, I will prefer staying away from that zone (smiles).

Can you come open about a secret of yours that has not been revealed?

There is no secret as such. But yes, people do know that I am dating someone. But they don't know who the lucky person is. So that's a secret I cannot share right now.

How is your off screen rapport with Devoleena?

Devoleena and I are very good friends.

Who do you get along well with on the set of Saathiya?

As said before, I share a really good bond with everyone.

What are your goals for the future?

I don’t believe in setting goals for the future. I live in the present, and I am in a happy zone presently.

You are the heart throb of all the Punjabis, and get mobbed by them in public places. How do you feel?

I feel very good as I am a Punjabi too. And getting all the love and response from them feels great!!
