Prachi Shah was on maternity leave. The Kathak dancer-actress (remember her as Pooja Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) was spending time with her little daughter Kiyanah but now she is back to where she belongs - the new show, Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam. She plays the mother of two young girls! Prachi faced the camera after one year, "I would often feel guilty of putting behind everything including my dance to be at home. Then I thought I should be with my daughter too. In case of this show, everything happened exactly on time. My daughter's birthday was on November 5 and I had to start shooting after that." An actress thinks that being a mother in real life helps her to play this role on screen. "Now, when I am enacting a scene with my on-screen daughter, I think about my child. In fact the other day I was telling my husband what would happen to us when our daughter enters her teens. It scares me." Even if Prachi is playing mother of two teenagers, her character will be shown quite young. "Mridula, my character got married at an early age, so they wanted someone to look as young as her daughters. Nowadays, they want teenagers or fresh faces to play leads so I knew I will never get a chance to play lead now. In fact when Kyunki. was at its peak the show took a leap and we had to play mothers at a very young age. You can imagine it happened six years back and we could not leave it as it was a hit show. So now I don't feel awkward playing mother." Tushar Dalvi plays her husband, Brij Bhooshan Mathur. "We share a good rapport, being a Maharashtrian, I knew him. He is a very well-known actor. Socially, I had met him a few times but work wise it's a first. In the show, his character is very lively, he loves his wife despite being parents of two young girls and addresses her in a particular way. They are like a newly-wedded couple who are possessive about each other. "Mridula is very sweet and obedient. She is very innocent, she cannot take her own decisions. She does not go out without her husband's permission. In fact her daughters are more firm and strong than her and sometimes they also cover up for Mridula. In reality I am not at all like her, I am independent and though we give each other a minute by minute report, it's more due to habit than any compulsion." The show deals with casteism. Does she believe in it? "We live in metropolitan cities so for us, it is fine, but most people from our society believe in it. To me, the guy should be good. Before my marriage too, my parents were a little hesitant even though my husband, Vishwas belongs to the same community."
