Beginning her journey as a newsreader on NDTV Hindi, Star News and CNBC Awaaz in succession, Sonali Verma moved to acting in a lot of TV shows.

The fine looking versatile and extremely talented lady, who has wooed a lot of hearts as Gayatri in Star Plus show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director’s Kut) since the last five years is all set to bid farewell to the show as she will enter a wedlock with Sachin Sachdeva soon.

How important is money to you?

I think money is important to serve three basic necessities of ours viz roti, kapda and makaan. Beyond that, I do not feel it is important.

Are you an impulsive buyer?

Not really, I buy things which I need and the things which I love as they will stay with me for my lifetime.

What are the investments that you have made?

Have done some necessary financial investments as suggested by every banker.

What has been your most expensive purchase?

I bought a house as an investment however I have also bought myself some jewellery as indulgence investment.

Do you feel financially secure?

Yes. I do feel financially secure.

Who handles your expenses?

I have a firm of accountants so these personnel handle my expenses. I too keep a tab on the accounts.

What was your first salary?

I earned my first salary 17 years ago as a guest coordinator for a Home TV show Central Hall, for which I was paid approximately Rs. 9000.

How much money do you carry every day?

I do not carry more than Rs. 2000 as I have credit and debit cards always with me.

Your advice to new investors?

I would advise investors to make their money work for them.
