Tongue in cheek, hip and happening, a DJ who believes that DJing is a passion and not a money making profession, hates wearing his attitude on his sleeves, believes that wearing sunglasses at night is awesome. Need one say more? Nikhil Chinappa bares all in a one on one chat with Ayush Sengupta; read on, people!

What is more important for you, being comfortable or stylish?
Comfortable. 1020 per cent comfortable.

So would that mean loose clothes, an out of bed look or something more suave like a tuxedo? Does Nikhil dress the same way onscreen and offscreen?
I am a complete jeans and T-shirt guy. What I wear depends on my frame of mind at that particular moment, it totally depends on me. I am not sure in this regard what's expected of me. I dance a lot, so I wear anything that'll give me the desired flexibility.

Which kind of hairstyle do you dig?
Straight forward.

Girls go weak in their knees when they catch sight of your physique, what's the secret?
These girls who go weak in their knees don't drink enough. They need to drink cow juice. The secret behind my physique is that I enjoy being fit. If I catch a cold, I get extremely irritated. A fit body is essentially essential.

What does your daily diet comprise of?
Three meals. I am very particular about it, just finished my lunch. (Time on the wall clock reads 4pm, Nikhil laughs out loud).

Favourite Workout Zone?
Body Language near Leelavati. The gym does not comprise of any snazzy wallpapers and other cool stuff, just for people who want to come and workout.

You also flaunt a couple of tattoos.
One is the cartoon character 'Hotstuff' that I got done for myself in San Francisco. The other tattoo done recently is that of 'Gandalf' from The Lord of the Rings that was done in Amsterdam.

Favourite book and a recommended read:
Favourite book would be Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien and recommended read would be The curious incident of the dog at night time by Mark Haddon. Also I would love to recommend the author 'James Harriett' who would be great for first time readers.

You are also a DJ. How do you manage your DJing and VJing?
I am a VJ in the day and a DJ in the night. Hence, I sleep on flights.

What is your favourite song in 2006 and what genre of music would you recommend for avid music listeners?
Slipping Away by Moby. The genre of music that I'd recommend would be Electro Funk (A type of house music). It carries a 1980's punk rock feel to it.

Do you wear your attitude on your sleeves?
I don't. I hate to shove my attitude in anybody's face.

A normal day would mean….
There are no normal days in a VJ's life.

The most happening guy/gal in the industry

Abhishek Bachchan. He is not very cool but yet that very factor makes him happening.

Biggest fashion faux pas that comes to your mind.
Wearing sunglasses at night. The bigger the louder the better.

Fashion tip for the readers (and I quote)
" Plan your fashion agenda with the basic and it doesn't get more basic than wearing clean underwear."
