He broke the myth that good lookers cannot be good singers. After mesmerizing the audience with Sony's Indian Idol, he ventured into acting with Balaji's Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hain. But it was his portayal of the rich, spolit brat, Manthan in Kyunki Saas…, that brought Amit Tandon, the fame he desired. And he shares a similarity with his on screen persona when it comes to fashion. Like Manthan, this stunning guy loves to dress up well, which makes him so appealing for the fairer sex.

In a free-wheeling chat with Sameera Kapoor, Amit, in angrez accent, goes vocal about being in vogue.

Fashion motto
I believe in comfort. There are times when I have seen people wearing something just for the heck of it or because it's in vogue. But their uneasiness in their attire only makes them look bad.

Manthan and me
You can draw parallels between our dressing sense. Manthan sports a rugged look and exudes a yo-yo appeal. Same is the case with me; the only exception being, I don't accessorise as much as him.

My pick
It has to be jeans and tees. On a normal day, I prefer a casual and carefree look.

Desi look
ndian wear gives immense scope to experiment. I love to don kurtas, sherwanis and churidars. It's a welcome change from the same old blazers. But for such outfits, the occasion has to be taken into consideration. You cannot be walking into a party wearing a colorful Indian attire when the theme is formal.

Western look
Hassle-free! I am more into straight cuts as it gives me an athletic look. But it does call for a good co-ordination sense to bring out the magic of looking cool as well as make a strong statement.

Brand loyalty
I have no qualms wearing something as fashionable as Gabbana or something from the flea market. What's important is that the outfit should make you look chic, as if it was only meant for you.

Names dropping
I prefer Diesel for jeans, Armani for suits and blazers and Guess for the variety they offer.

Fashion fiasco
Except for some minor issues, like misplacing my cufflinks, I have never experienced any major blooper. I am very careful when it comes to dressing. You'll never catch me atrociously dressed.

Dressing diversity
Contrary to popular belief that men have a limited choice to wear, I believe that we have the liberty to put on anything and pass away with it. To cite an example, men with a bulging belly can still wear tight fitting tees, which a women can't.

Makeover time
I am growing my hair to bring some change in my apperance. And I must tell you, setting it takes a helluva time.

Shopping delight
For that, it has to be my hometown, New York. Over here, I shop at Tinsel Town and Boeing London.
