Riya V Anandwala talks to Pooja Rawal about her material life! "I can't stay without spending on clothes" What kind of investments have you done till date? I make many investments. I invest a lot in mutual funds. What about stocks? No, not at all. Four to five years back I lost a lot in the share bazaar. From then I have kept away from stocks. What about investing in properties? I already have a property on me, and soon will be investing in one more. But the new one would only be for investment purpose. Are you an uncontrollable buyer? Completely! I am a random buyer. Whenever I step out of my house, I have to purchase something or the other, which is not really a good habit! What about gadgets? Well, I used to spend lots on gadgets earlier, but it's not the same now. My husband is more into it than me. What about splurging on clothes? Me and my better half (husband) don't indulge in smoking and drinking, the only common spending habit we share is clothes. We both freak on it. So round about how much do you end up spending on yourself, by the end of the month? Well, if only my clothes, footwear and accessories, the basic necessities are counted, then it come up to Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000. "I cannot cut on my eating out, to save money!" What's your take on insurance policies? I have invested the maximum in insurance policies. Me and my brother were very young when we lost our father, so it was only his insurance policy which came as a safeguard for our family. Who will be the beneficiary of you insurance? My son, of course. Do you own a car? Is it on loan? I own two cars, one is a Skoda and the other one is an Accent. Both are definitely on loan. I don't believe in outrightly paying where heavy investments are required. Even my house is on loan. How are you by nature, when it comes to your finances? Well I am a little carefree, but not totally. I can't cut on my present luxury for my savings. I won't lessen the amount of money I spend on clothes, I make sure that I have atleast two trips abroad. I believe in living in the moment!!!! What about investing in diamonds? Well, expect an obvious answer, yes! I spend loads on it. And whenever I have a fight with my husband, a diamond set or ring comes my way!
