Health is wealth! And Amarr Upadhyay is an ardent believer of this adage. Amarr, who was last seen in Kkusum and has been dabbling in Bhojpuri films as well, will soon be seen in Viraasat on Star Plus, and has read loads and loads of books on health. Riya V Anandwala catches up with the actor and asks him to share his knowledge with us. Read on! Are you health conscious? Yes, I am very health conscious! What do you do to keep yourself fit? I believe that everybody requires a different diet and one should exercise according to that. I have a good nutritious diet, I also work out a little bit. What do you mostly binge on - cardio or weights? I mostly do freehand exercises, like stretching. I certainly go to the gym too. I do light weights and abs too. In cardio, I do more of cycling, steppers, twisting, but that's only four times a week. What about your diet? Well, I believe that breakfast is a very important meal, as you are hungry for an entire night! So I have a lot of carbs for my breakfast. I eat every three hours, and I eat very less. You eat in small intervals, so do you put on weight easily? No! Everyone is under a myth that if you eat after such small intervals, one tends to put on weight, but that's not true. Instead, if you don't eat that often, you can easily put on weight. You shoot for hours together, how much does it affect your health? i make it a point to shoot for only 12 hours a day, it's rare that I shoot more than that. Mostly the lights affect the skin, but I use good products which help me get away from it. What is your height and weight? I am six feet tall and I weigh 74 kgs. So what is the ideal weight supposed to be for a height like yours? Anything between 70 to 75, maximum 80 kgs. How much water do you drink in a day? Oh! I drink loads and loads of water. The first thing I do after getting up in the morning is drink a litre of water, and after 45 minutes I have my breakfast. I drink nearly six litres of water in a day. Water is a must, even if you are not thirsty, you should have drink it. And our brain has 85 per cent of water, and if the intake of water is less, brain doesn't function well! You have a lot of knowledge about health and keeping the body fit.... Once upon a time, I was overweight, 80 plus! I wondered why I had gained so much of weight, and read up a lot on health. I have spoken to a lot of people, experts. One fact that many are not aware of is that one should eat according to their blood group! Do you avoid anything to maintain your health? I am a pure vegetarian! Other than that I don't smoke, nor do I drink! So in that sene, I avoid a lot of things! I eat eggs at times, and have soya chunks every alternate day! Are you into any form of yoga? Yes, after drinking water in the moring, i get started with my yoga.
