She’s attractive, endearing and absolutely adorable.

Yes, we are talking of Soumya Seth who won millions of hearts with her lovely smile in Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat…on Sony Entertainment Television. Last seen in The Serial on Channel V, the charming actress talks about how important money is in life for her.

How important is money to you?

Money is very important for survival.

Are you an impulsive buyer?

Though not an impulsive buyer, I make it certain that whatever I buy is classy; something which can be in vogue and I can wear even after five years.

What are the investments that you have made?

My father is a gold jeweller. Personally speaking I have preferred wearing only gold ornaments since childhood. So whatever money I earn, I make sure that a majority part of it is invested in gold. Also, I do not believe in wearing artificial jewellery.

What has been your most expensive purchase?

Recently, I bought a solitaire for my mother.

Do you feel financially secure?

(Laughs) As an independent person I am not secure financially, but having dad by my side, I am always financially covered.

Who handles your expenses?

That department is handled by my mother (smiles).

What was your first salary?

My grandfather used to give me Rs. 10 to drink milk. You may take it as a barter deal but for me I have earned it for myself! I, for one, hate drinking milk.

How much money do you carry every day?

Earlier carrying money was considered to be very cool proposition. There was a time in my college days that I used to carry Rs. 25,000 in my purse, but now I carry my plastic money with a liquid cash of between Rs 5,000-6,000.

Your advice to new investors?

Money is very important and one must save. After all money does not grow on trees.
