"Like a true Marwadi, I save all my earnings" - Neha Bamb

she has been branded unapproachable but Neha Bamb is a sweet girl very few know. She zoomed to limelight with Sony's Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai where she plays a simple yet beautiful girl Kripa who later transforms into a hep and gorgeous babe. In real life, Neha, who wanted to pursue studies abroad, is a self-confessed 'typical Maru (Marwadi)' girl who heads straight home to Ghatkopar even after a late night shoot.

In real life, Neha, who wanted to pursue studies abroad, is a self-confessed 'typical Maru (Marwadi)' girl who heads straight home to Ghatkopar even after a late night shoot.

Her fan list includes not just Indians but even Asians from London, who on her recent visit gifted her perfumes and jewellery. But what is this pretty actor's personal taste when it comes to her modus vivendi? Gita Hari finds out……

I hate restrictions
I like to be free and enjoy my own company, like sitting alone in a cafeteria and sipping coffee. I love wearing a vest or plain white shirt and denims teamed with funky bag and shoes - that's just being myself. I identify myself with Jessica Parker from my favourite serial Sex and the City.

I like to dress elegantly
I make sure that the overall dress is subtle, understated and not in-your-face. But if the occasion demands, then I co-ordinate, mix & match my dress and accessories. For instance, if the top is jazzy I go for beige shoes and a handbag. For formal events I prefer a georgette sari teamed with a noodle strap blouse. I find animal prints in dresses quite attractive. I love diamonds and pearls and also have neat collection of tiny hairclips.

The best compliment I have received
Manish Malhotra once told me that with a face like mine, I should accessorize less. And yes, I follow his advice religiously.

My fetish
Shoes! I simply love my recent buy (Mango and Marks & Spencer) from London. I blow my money on gorgeous footwear; I go crazy with authentic Italian makes. They are excellent in looks and comfort. I am also quite possessive about my Guess and Diesel watches and Channel shades. I have a cool collection of funky handbags. One of my friends is into Swarovksi who gifts me handbags studded with the gems.

I don't touch my paycheque
Like a true blue Marwadi, I save my entire earnings. I only spend what I earn from shows and events which happen almost every month. Like at my recent London visit, I shopped till I dropped! I also like to buy presents for my family and three of my best friends; sometimes I end up spending more on them than myself.

My parlour expenses are just Rs.25
Fortunately I am blessed with a good skin. I visit a beauty salon only to do my eyebrows. Otherwise it's my grandma's natural remedies that work for me, especially for hair treatments.

I have been taught to value money
I drive a Honda City gifted by my dad on my 19th birthday. I can afford a more expensive car but I have been brought up to respect money.
