MUMBAI :Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has been making a lot of buzz these days for his dating rumours. The cricketer was initially rumoured to be dating actress Sara Ali Khan as they were spotted at a restaurant together a few months ago. He was also earlier speculated to be in a relationship with Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar. The internet has now been rife with speculations saying that the cricketer is going to get engaged with Sachin’s daughter. Take a look at how this began.

Currently, Gill has been grabbing headlines as he broke the record made by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar by scoring 208 runs off just 149 balls in the first ODI against New Zealand yesterday. Not just that, Shubman has even become the youngest Indian cricketer to score a double ton in a 50-over cricket match. Soon after he broke these records, a tweet began doing the rounds, claiming that Sachin had announced his daughter’s engagement with him and went viral on Twitter.

The tweet was made by Twitter user named Harsh, who posted a photo of Tendulkar and his daughter and wrote, “BREAKING: Sachin Tendulkar announces daughter Sara's engagement with #ShubmanGill.” The user later clarified in the comments that it was meant to be a satire tweet. But netizens immediately reacted to the tweet, and the comments section became a meme fest as they shared their hilarious reactions to the tweet. However, many fans were shocked as they thought that it was a serious tweet, but others took it hilariously.

On Wednesday, Shubman Gill created history as he smashed a double hundred at India’s first ODI match vs New Zealand, the first match in a three-game series. He scored 208 runs after India won the toss and opted to bat first. India managed to set a huge target of 350 runs on the board for the Black Caps, all thanks to Gill’s double hundred.
