MUMBAI: Whenever an athlete brings prestigious medals for the country, everyone celebrates his/her accomplishment. However, one cannot forget that it takes many years of dedication and hard work to achieve this level of success. Whenever we talk about such athletes, PV Sindhu’s name certainly deserves attention. 

The star has brought many laurels for India. 

PV Sindhu started playing badminton from a young age and eventually went on to establish herself as a successful sports star.  A recipient of the sports honour Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the pretty lady made her international debut in 2009. She is the first Indian to become the Badminton World Champion. 

Recently, she made headlines for her stint in Tokyo Olympics. The ace sports star won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The stylish diva is no doubt a perfect example of beauty with brains and that’s why fans never stop admiring her.

While she has won many awards, do you know she was also presented a BMW car by a popular movie star? Yes, you read that right! 

Well, the ace shuttler was presented a brand new BMW car by none other than Akkineni Nagarjuna. The felicitation happened at the Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, in the presence of eminent personalities including V Chamundeswaranath and P Gopi Chand. 

Back then, PV Sindhu had responded to the felicitation by recalling how she was first presented a car by ‘Chamundi uncle’ and many questioned the purpose. “Then, he told them to wait for a couple of years and see what I will achieve. Within four years of the first car presentation, I won the silver in Rio Olympics,” she said, and added, “It is always a special feeling to be presented the car by the evergreen film star Nagarjuna sir and also in the presence of Gopi Anna who mean a lot to me. I promise that I will put in the best efforts to comeback with the Olympic gold.”
