Every year around the end or so Gauri and I take a break. In simple words, we go for our vacation. Every year we try to go to our favourite destinations, favourite cities and come back with a huge bag of memories and artefacts. Gauri is especially fond of picking up artefacts from all over the world. We had gone on a European tour in 2008. It was December. We went to Venice, Ibiza, Barcelona, Paris and we, I mean, Gauri shopped a lot...souvenirs and mementos. Yeah, we shopped for clothes also. We were in Paris and she picked up a lot of make- up from there. Though most of it is available today in India as well you can't guarantee whether it’s original. She had picked up stuff for her friends too. We got back here but due to excess luggage we had to pay extra duty in Paris. But nevertheless we were very happy of our possessions...till we reached Mumbai. The worst happened. We got all our baggage except for the bag which had all our artefacts, souvenirs, make- up and our newly shopped clothes and a lot more…that bag just didn't come. We complained about it to the concerned authorities and they assured us we will get it soon, in fact the very next day but days turned into weeks and weeks into months. After three months or so we got our bag back but without anything in it. Everything was stolen. The bag was slashed from all sides and we were told that’s how they got it from Paris airport. I was not bothered about anything else…except the make-up stuff Gauri had bought. That would have brought a smile on her face!
