MUMBAI: Abhishek Kumar, who rose to prominence with his tumultuous yet transformative stint on Bigg Boss, has firmly established himself as one of the most talked-about faces in the world of Indian television.
From being labelled a villain to winning hearts as a reformed and relatable finalist, his journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. Emerging as the first runner-up among nineteen contestants, Abhishek’s evolution struck a chord with the audience.
Currently, he’s bringing a dose of entertainment to the reality space with his appearance on Laughter Chef 2, where he is paired alongside Samarth. The duo has been winning laughs and love, even as they struggle to whip up some of the show’s culinary challenges.

Abhishek is also making headlines with an exciting upcoming web series titled Tu Aashiiki Haii, which will soon premiere on YouTube.
The series marks his first on-screen collaboration with actress Amandeep Sidhu, and their fresh pairing has already sparked curiosity among fans. Viewers are keen to see how their chemistry unfolds on screen.
In a recent candid interview, Abhishek reflected on a setback that came his way after exiting Bigg Boss. The actor revealed he had bagged a significant role in a Hindi film, with everything from workshops and scripting to payments already in place. “I had signed a major film project after Bigg Boss. The script was finalised, the cheque was issued, and I had even started workshops with an acting coach,” he shared.
However, a change in the production schedule turned things upside down. “The original shoot location wasn’t available on the dates I committed to, so the schedule was postponed. Unfortunately, when they were finally ready to shoot, the dates clashed with my commitment to Khatron Ke Khiladi,” he explained. Despite requesting the makers to reschedule, they declined, and Abhishek had to step away from the project.
“Since I share a strong rapport with the channel airing Khatron, I couldn’t back out of the show. Eventually, the role went to someone else,” he added.
While the missed opportunity stung, Abhishek remains optimistic and focused on what lies ahead. With Tu Aashiiki Haii creating pre-release buzz, fans are more eager than ever to see him return to the screen — this time, with a new character and an exciting co-star by his side.
