Akanksha Puri shares her experience of working with ace director Madhur Bhandarkar in Calendar Girls, reveals her fondest memory from shoot

Akanksha is one of the most loved actresses on television, and the actress shared her experience of working with Madhur Bhandarkar and revealed a memory of hers from the shoot of the movie.

MUMBAI: Akanksha Puri has carved a path for herself in the glamour world. The film and TV actress has been a part of several projects. She even acted in Madhur Bhandarkar's 2015 film Calendar Girls, where she essayed the role of Nandita Menon.

Her television project Vighnaharta Ganesha starred her as Parvathi.

She has also been surrounded by waves of controversies, which began last year during season 13 of BB, even though she was not a part of it.

Currently, the actress is busy shooting for her three back-to-back web series that will soon stream online.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Akanksha and spoke to her about the experience of working with Madhur Bhandarkar and her fond memories from the shoot.

To which, the actress said that she was thrilled to work with the ace director, as this was her very first movie in Bollywood.

She further said that she was shooting for South movies when she received a call from Madhur Bhandarkar, and he was looking for a South Indian girl who could essay the character of Nandita Menon in the movie. At first, he thought she was a South Indian.

Akanksha said that she met him at his office for the first time, and he made her feel extremely comfortable. She felt like family and it was a very friendly conversation. She also said that he was always there for her and motivated her to perform well. It was an amazing experience and she is still in touch with the director. As they share the same birth date, they wish each other and she shares a great bond of friendship with him.

When asked about her most memorable memory from the movie, she said that on their birthday, a cake was brought in with "Happy Birthday Akanksha and Madhur" written on it, and she was thrilled as she is a fan of the director and admires his work. She was celebrating her birthday with him, which was one of the best moments of her life.

Well, to work with Madhur Bhandarkar in your first movie is like a dream debut for anyone, and Akanksha was lucky.
