The Kittu girl, who has disappeared from the scene, is back with Zaara Pyaar Ki Saugat on Sahara One. She will be essaying the role of Khushi in the serial. The bubbly actress maintained a low profile after Kittu Sab Janti Hai as she was busy with theatre. “It’s a great opportunity to be back with Sahara One. My play is concluding this January and this was the first offer that I received which was interesting. Thus I took it up and am looking forward to it,” says Ami. She begins to shoot for the serial tomorrow. Elaborating on her role she says, “I’ll be playing the daughter of Zaara (Samiksha). The story has taken another leap where Khushi has grown up and become an adult. My role is similar to that of Sridevi in Chaalbaaz. A simple girl who has is scared of everything. She is ill-treated by the family and is not allowed to meet her mother. I don’t know much about the show as I’ve never seen it. After a briefing given to me by the production house I agreed to do the role.” This character is very different from Kittu... She was a bindaas girl whereas Khushi is afraid of everything. It’s a challenge to change my image and I’m all ready for it,” she adds. Zaara had already taken a leap and now it’s going in for yet another change. “Zaara is out of jail and wants to meet her daughter but phufi stops her. She has blackmailed me and my daughter Khushi (Aditi Puneet Bhatia). It’s been years and my daughter has grown up. Now it’s time for me to make an entry and take revenge on all those who have tricked me. This is the new phase in the story,” says Samiksha. The New Year has brought in lots of khushi for Ami.
