Actor Amit Dolawat is on ‘Cloud Nine’ after getting the opportunity of being part of a World Cinema Festival film with renowned Director Vivek Sharma, who has earlier directed legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Bhootnath. The film titled ‘Character Certificate’ is about how we form an opinion about a person even before knowing him. The film will deal with this modern way of communication wherein assumptions about a person take centrestage rather than knowing and understanding the person. Amit Dolawat plays the lead in the film, while Priyanka Jaiswal essays his love interest. Known face of television Tanya Abrol and theatre artiste Jayesh Thakkar play vital roles. Tellychakkar.com had a word with the ace film maker and director Vivek Sharma to know about the film. Vivek Sharma who produces, directs and writes his movies under the banner Film Zone Creation Pvt. Ltd said, “Character Certificate as the title suggests, is about how we form an opinion about a person and fall flat when we get to know that our opinions are baseless and wrong. I had met Amit Dolawat at one of my friend’s place long back, but he had stayed in my mind. When I was about to make this film Character Certificate, I felt he would be the apt person to play the lead. Amit is a dedicated actor with good qualities, and the best part is that he is a genuine actor. Character Certificate is a one night’s story where certain assumptions made about Amit’s character (who is an investment banker) and the lead girl, Priyanka Jaiswal (who is a model and actor) end up killing a relationship.” On the manner in which he makes films, the film maker stated, “I believe in natural performances, and give full freedom to actors to say their own lines. As a film maker I want to give newness to Indian cinema, and make movies which will fall into the new-age category.” We then contacted the lead in the movie, Amit Dolawat who shared his happiness on working with a film maker of the caliber of Vivek Sharma. “Aah, it is a great feeling to be directed by the man who has directed greats like Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. He actually observed me on a general platform, and went on to call me as I fit into the script that he was making. It is really a compliment for me that a person like him observed me and had me in his mind. The best part is that he now knows me as an actor and has also seen my work in television and ads. I am thrilled as I feel that I am in a good zone to do bigger things in life.” On his character in the film, Amit averred, “I play a Muslim guy Samir Khan; people around him have an opinion about the guy and his religion (as Samir is an open name).The guy is in love with an actor and model and people perceive their relationship too in a different way. He remains a silent observer when people speak about their opinions about his girl friend, for them to later realize that the guy is in relationship with the girl. I have just completed the dubbing of this film, and I am looking forward for it to be premiered in film festivals.” Amit, this is indeed an achievement in itself!! Keep it up..
