Yesterday, Tellychakkar.com wrote exclusively about the ‘slap’ incident that created shock waves on the sets of Zee TV’s Yeh Vaada Raha (Trishulla Productions). We had written about the leads of the show, Ankush Arora and Sonal Vengurlekar getting involved in a heated argument, wherein an uncalled-for ‘action’ gave rise to an equally uncalled-for ‘reaction’. Yes, we are talking about Sonal slapping Ankush, which ended up in Ankush returning the slap to Sonal. Well, while we filed our story yesterday (predominantly based on the source versions we got), both the actors remained unavailable for comments, a decision that had been enforced on them by the production house and channel. Today, upon probing further and in our constant bid to reach out to the actors, we dug out more valuable information. A reliable source from the set told us, “When the police personnels arrived and Sonal wanted the arrest of Ankush to happen, many of the technicians present on the set and few senior actors did stand up for Ankush, saying that he was apparently provoked to take the ultimate action of slapping her. Since there were many evidences present to prove that Ankush was not guilty, the police apparently left the place without investigating into the case further.” We also hear that while Ankush used foul language (as reported by us), Sonal too did her bit to make the man angry by instigating him further. And most importantly, coming to the point of few senior actors standing by Ankush, we heard of Rinku Karmarkar (Tai) and Soni Singh (Kalindini), being the ones who requested the police to take no further action against Ankush. With this much of information, we talked to Soni Singh who said, “See, we all have bad temper which can get flared up amidst a heated argument. God knows how it started between Ankush and Sonal, but whatever happened was very sad, considering the clean environment that the production house provides us. As far as I know, Ankush is a very nice person, he’s decent enough to know his boundaries. Yes, when the police came, I and Rinkuji talked to them, and requested them to hear both versions of the story carefully and then decide. I will only say that whatever the matter is, it needs to get sorted on the set, and addressing such issues openly, is actually not called for.” Senior actor Rinku Karmarkar told us, “Well, when the fight between them started, I was not on the set. I had gone out and when I got in, I saw a lot of dropped jaws and there was complete silence. I wondered what went wrong, and upon coming in, heard that there was a huge fight breakout between the two of them. Nothing happened in front of me to be honest. See, in my vast career, I have seen worst cases wherein the actors involved refused to share screen space after the fights. I am actually happy that Ankush and Sonal resolved matters, and got back to the shoot spot in quick time. I must commend them for their professionalism. I believe that what is right should be narrated in the right manner. It does not mean to pull down the other person, but it is about supporting the right things. When the police came in, based on what I was told, I stood by what is right. Soni also told the same thing. But all’s well now, and the best way to tackle this is to maintain silence.” Lastly but most importantly, we buzzed the man in question Ankush Arora who admitted that he did not want to take the matter deep down as he was instructed not to talk to, and hence held himself back from talking to media when we tried reaching out to him yesterday. However, he expressed that he wanted to open up a bit saying, “To begin with, with reference to whatever Tellychakkar.com has written, your facts are distorted. One cannot give such strong statements relying on to one’s sources. I really do not want to comment anything on the incident as the story and the incident that happened have been disheartening for me. To get the true story, you can ask anyone on the set. There were actually 70 odd people present; you can ask them who is right and who is wrong. As for me, I really do not want to talk about it.” We certainly understand, Ankush!! Guess the only positive aspect that comes out of the whole incident is that both Ankush and Sonal have been extremely professional in throwing their anger aside, at least when they are facing the camera!! Cheer up guys, there’s only one life and to smile and be happy is the order of the day...
