Anuj Saxena has big animation plans

He charmed you as Abhay in Sony's Kkussum. But acting has never been enough for him and he has been aching to go beyond his company's pharma venture, Elder Pharma. He charmed you as Abhay in Sony's Kkussum. But acting has never been enough for him and he has been aching to go beyond his company's pharma venture, Elder Pharma. Hence, he set up a production house, Maverick, then he dived into the restaurant business with Blue Waters. Now Anuj Saxena is hoping to prove a big draw in the animation business. His company Maverick recently picked up a 51 percent equity stake in film restoration, colour correction and animation studio Sankranti Productions promoted by Rajeev Dwivedi. Sankranti was responsible for the colour correction of Mughal E Azam which was re-released a couple of years ago rather successfully. The studio has tied up with various production houses both in India and abroad for other such ventures. Says Anuj "As a content provider, I want to synergise between TV production and animation and may be produce full fledged animation movies. Not just this, but I also want to create fresh animated characters for my shows." Sankranti Creations shall dedicate itself to outsourcing animation and special effects. With the take over by Maverick, Sankranti plans to set up a large production studio with state-of -the-art equipment and hardware and software like SGI, 3DMax and SoftImage, SFX and Processing motion capture facilities. Adds Saxena, "The Indian Animation sector is set to boom in the coming years in view of the inherent advantage it offers to the world in terms of superior quality of trained work force, lower fees and no government controls." The question that begs asking Anuj is: will you star in them? Will audiences now go ga-ga over you as an animated character?
