MUMBAI: Television actor Shivam Khajuria, who has swiftly won hearts with his portrayal of Prem in the hit series Anupamaa, recently spoke candidly about his journey in the industry including the ups, the downs, and a notable near-miss with one of Bollywood’s biggest banners.
In an exclusive conversation with TellyChakkar, the rising star reflected on how a recent rejection for a Dharma Productions film turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Have you faced rejection for a Dharma Productions film recently? Could you tell us more about that?
Yes, that’s true. I had auditioned for a film under Dharma Productions, and everything was going well. The feedback from my auditions was really positive, and I was in the running for a parallel lead role. The film is actually due to be released soon. But then, out of nowhere, I was replaced. I still don’t know what exactly happened. It’s just one of those things. These situations are part and parcel of this industry.
How did you handle that setback?
Honestly, I don’t dwell on it too much. Yes, the disappointment is there initially, but it fades. I’ve learnt not to carry regrets. In fact, shortly after that, I was offered the role of Prem in Anupamaa, and things aligned perfectly. Sometimes, what you think is a missed opportunity turns out to be redirection and I couldn’t be happier with where I am now.
With his grounded attitude and growing popularity, Shivam Khajuria is clearly a name to watch. As Anupamaa continues to dominate the TRP charts, fans are eagerly anticipating the evolution of Prem’s character and his on-screen romance and if his recent trajectory is any indication, Shivam’s best is yet to come.
