Arnab Goswami, the one man India tunes in to see every night at 9 pm, is all set to join the team of Satyamev Jayate on Star Plus (Aamir Khan Productions). Tellychakkar.com has learnt through reliable sources that Arnab will be co-hosting the show with Aamir Khan when it opens up its second installment of season 2 (the show will air in breaks), right after elections. Sources say that the deal was brokered by none other than Aamir himself. Apparently, Aamir was a bit upset after reading reports of Arnab bashing ‘Peepli Live’ for caricaturing journalists. “The makers of Peepli Live’ have no passion for our country,” Arnab had roared at FICCI FRAMES, this time. And when Arnab talks, the nation of course listens. Fearing the worst, Aamir immediately rang up Arnab and invited him over to his residence for a one-to-one chat over tea and biscuits. Arnab being perpetually busy politely declined the invitation but the perfectionist Aamir, being the charmer that he is, managed to woo him into accepting his ‘chai pe charcha’ invite. The meeting reportedly took place last week and also present was Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao who we hear, is a diehard fan of Arnab. Sources say that Arnab was still grumpy about Peepli Live and proceeded in his own inimitable style to bash Aamir left, right and center for making fun of his ilk. ‘Never, ever, ever again…produce something as ridiculous as Peepli Live…ever again,’ Arnab reportedly told Aamir. Aamir carefully went over ‘The Arnab threat’ for more than 30 minutes with his eyes closed and index finger on his lips while Arnab took a short break to finish his tea. Thirty minutes later, Aamir opened his eyes and said, ‘I agree Arnab but on one condition. To placate you and to do right the gross injustice that you feel I have perpetrated through Peepli Live, I would like you to join me to co - host Satyamev Jayate, next time.’ Sources vouch that Arnab couldn’t believe his ears and double dared Aamir to repeat his offer. It is only after Aamir repeated it 10 times; Arnab accepted the deal for an undisclosed sum of money. So get ready for an action packed Satyamev Jayate when it returns to screen after elections. It remains to be seen which of the two As will garner maximum attention- the perfectionist Aamir or the argumentative Arnab. One thing is guaranteed though. The show will be a runaway hit.
