Pankit Thakker is a shy person by nature, and usually prefers to spend time with his family on his birthday. However, the actor was bowled over by the love and affection showered on him by the cast and crew of his show on Life OK, Bahu Humari Rajni_Kant. 

Pankit who celebrated his birthday yesterday (14 March) was in for a huge surprise as his co-actors were hell bent in breaking his record of not celebrating his birthday in style... 

We hear that Tanvi Thakkar and Vahbiz Dorabjee were the master minds behind the huge plan, and they saw to it that the actors who were not shooting on the day were taken for a special lunch treat at 14 Sauce Story, in Andheri.

When contacted, Pankit told us, “Yes, I don’t celebrate my birthday as I cannot handle the attention that people shower on me. I don’t know how to react when people ask me to cut the cake and sing the birthday song. I am a shy person, and had no plans to celebrate my birthday. I had told my team to not give me a holiday and to shoot with me, but since the shooting line-up had another important sequence planned, I along with a lot of actors got an off.”

“And the surprise thrown on me was fabulous. I got a lot of gifts and compliments, love from my co-actors. Our Producer Sonali Jaffer gifted me with a wine bottle. Tanvi and Mehul (Nissar) got me some creative gifts. While Tanvi gifted me a painting that she made herself, Mehul got me a nice picture of Gyaan and Dhyaan. Vahbiz got the birthday cake, and Pallaviji and Sweety gifted me perfumes,” added Pankit. 

However, Producer Amir Jaffer, Karan V Grover, Ridhima Pandit, Rajendra Chawla had to give the get-together a miss, as they were shooting a very important sequence. 

Pankit expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew of Bahu Rajni_kant for pushing him to celebrate his birthday after many years.
