MUMBAI: Rupal Patel became a household name with her stint as Kokilaben in the original edition of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya (SNS). Her health condition has delayed the shoot of her upcoming show, which is a prequel to SNS. Gossips regarding the actress Rupal Patel’s health went viral. She was hospitalised a couple of days ago. We have learnt that she is recovering and is doing much better. In all likelihood, she will be discharged today. While Rupal was unavailable for comment, her secretary told us, “She is doing fine and should be discharged today.”

 Rupal has not yet confirmed whether she would be a part of the show, a source associated with the project told us that she is indeed on board as one of the principal cast members. Source quotes, “Rupalji is going to be a part of the show, which was originally slated to go on floors on June 1. However, unfortunately, she has fallen sick and hence, the shoot of the show has been delayed by a couple of weeks. Everything is in place and we will commence the shoot once she fully recovers.”

When asked about it, Rupal’s secretary said, “Yes, talks are on. However, the deal is yet to be finalised.”

 Ved Raj, who is producing the show, was one of the writers of the original edition of SNS. He has worked on an original script but has retained certain elements, including a few members from the original cast. Barring a few actors and some elements, everything is original and fresh about the new show. It will be a fairy tale romance on the lines of the story of Cinderella, whose life will change for the better after she meets her Prince Charming.
