Check the slideshow above I think now I know why there are so many oriental restaurants mushrooming in the megapolis…. Almost all my celeb guests cite ‘oriental cuisine’ as their favourite. It was no different with the lissome Samiksha Bhatnagar (Kumkum Bhagya). The stylish actor in a peach colored polka dot dress and stilettos arrived at the venue, Nikhil Chibb’s Busago in BKC, after a bit of driving around the place. Manager Ajay suggested we go for Tibetan Chicken (best eaten with Chibb’s original red chilli sauce) and Veg Momos sauce with Chibb’s green chilli sauce…yes, the sauces are made in-house. We relished the thin, translucent casings hugging finely chopped veggies and chicken. The Dehradun girl adept in classical music, was running a dance academy called Creative Heart in Delhi when the lure of tinsel world brought her to Mumbai. Venturing into modelling and then small screen, she has done quite a few negative roles: “They are not just any roles, but negative leads and if you have noticed, such characters get more noticed as the story cannot move forward without them,” she laughs. She has also been featured in a few episodic of Crime Patrol and Savdhan India too. Her dream reality shows would be Jhalak Dhikla Jaa (loves dancing) followed by Khatron ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss. I egged her on to try meal-in-a-bowl that Busago is famous for – Burmese Kaukswe – flavourful coconut curry with vegetables or chicken best eaten with noodles and condiments of your choice like peanuts, fried garlic, onions, greens and another interesting dish Mekong Sizzling Veg Curry- sizzling veg in a tamarind and coconut juice based gravy, both lived up to our expectations. The actor with peaches and cream complexion uses home-made packs of multani mitti, egg n honey for the skin, drinks lemon water with honey, eats lots of fruits and makes sure to remove her make-up before going to bed. “It clogs your pores,” enlightens Samiksha. Busago serves juices squeezed from fresh fruits with no added sugar or ice and surprised with Get Detoxed – a drink with spinach, cucumber, apple and celery – healthy and yummy too! Citing a paranormal experience: As a young girl, when I was performing Kathak dance in Mussorie in an open theatre, there was a lady in white who kept staring at me before the show commenced. As you are aware, we take rounds in kathak performances and while I was taking rounds, the same lady who was sitting across the stage disappeared. In between rounds, she would be visible and then vanish. The same evening I fell sick running a high fever.”After that incident, Samiksha is really scared of staying alone at home. Banh Mi is a tasty and wholesome fusion of French baguette and Italian panini with Asian flavors, textures and fresh ingredients. One Love sandwich consisting of wok tossed mushrooms, roasted yellow and red peppers , grilled aubergine and caramelised onions, mozzarella, chilli mayo, tomato pesto, pickled greens floored us with its freshly baked bread and fusion of tastes. As for Samiksha, she can confidently prepare chicken dishes, rajma and make perfectly round rotis. Jaguar is her dream car and she loves to go on long drives…. “In fact along with my brother, we have driven from Mumbai to Delhi often.” In a family of three elder brothers, she has been pampered silly and was ‘Daddy’s girl’ whom she misses a lot. What can be a sweeter sayonara than Busago’s Chocolate Mousse , a sinful chocolicious concoction of homemade dessert. Out of habit, just could not miss Banofee-in-a-cup. . Lemon Tart – short bread crust with lemon curd filling was temptalicious too. Guys, watch out for this beauty who is on the threshold of signing a Hindi film with a renowned production house… too early to reveal the details, is her stance.
