Indian cricketers have been known to have an affinity for the glitz and glamour of the world of entertainment --- be it Kapil Dev, Sidhu or Salil Ankola, the call of tellydom has been too strong for them to ignore. The latest to join the bandwagon is the offspring of legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi, Angad who will host Star One's Cook Na Kaho, starting 22 May.

"They wanted somebody, who was not typically filmi, somebody who had a cricketing background. I think it was a conscious decision. Anyway, I have trained as an actor under Kishore Namit Kapoor and I have done theatre as well, so facing the camera wasn't a new thing for me. I have also done a film, Kaya Taran with Seema Biswas that released last month," says Angad, who has the full support of his dad and has already managed to shoot all 13 episodes that he will be a part of.

So will Delhi (Angad plays for the state) lose its player to tellydom, we ask --- "No, I am not quitting cricket. It's off season now, so I can do stuff that really excites me," points out Angad.

Interestingly, Angad has the liberty to draw up his own guest list for the show --- he has drawn up quite a list. From Arbaaz Khan to Bishan Singh Bedi, Rohan Gavaskar and Harsha Bhogle and Azharuddin, all will be seen savouring Angad's handiwork.

"I always help my parents in the kitchen. Moreover, I stayed alone for quite sometime and one tends to get lonely then, and cooking is a great way to counter that. I cooked dum biriyani for Arbaaz Khan and you know what…he not only ate the stuff, but took some home for Malaika as well!" says Angad, quite like a typical cook who appreciates a connoisseur of food.

Cook Na Kaho is a show that had popular hunks show off their culinary skills with the help of Karen Anand. Angad will be the third anchor of the show that was previously hosted by models Upen Patel and Shayan Munshi.
